Position Summary The Film and Video Director will help people find and follow Jesus through beautiful and compelling visual storytelling. The Film and Video Director is responsible to recruit, develop, shepherd, disciple, and lead a talented volunteer team of film and video team members. They will create compelling film and video content for weekend services, website, and social media. Examples of projects include testimony stories, mini-documentaries, message bumpers, sermon illustrations, promotional / highlight videos, and lyric videos. The Film and Video director will help manage the technical and creative aspects of filmmaking, including set up & tear down, cameras, lighting, and design for various production environments and scenarios. They will also oversee editing and post-production.
The Film and Video Director will report directly to the Creative Director and work cohesively with the Creative Team departments.
Essential Functions - Work as a cohesive unit with our Creative Team.
- Gather film, photo and video volunteers across campuses and equip them for ministry.
- Lead, encourage, and develop volunteers through 1:1 and group interactions and through Menlo’s leadership pipeline.
- Manage scheduling and communication with volunteers utilizing Planning Center.
- Create compelling visual content that communicates what God is doing through Menlo.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive film and video strategy for the church, including regular video content for social media, sermons, special events, and other purposes as needed.
- Produce and edit video content, ensuring timely and high-quality video production and alignment with the Menlo’s branding and messaging guidelines
- Collaborate with ministry leaders to develop video content that supports their programs and events.
- Oversee all aspects of video production, including equipment acquisition and maintenance, set up / tear down, staging, filming, editing, and distribution.
- Stay up-to-date on video production and editing techniques and suggest new ways to improve the church's video content.
- Maintain and organize video assets, including footage and finished products.
- Ensure that all video content is accessible and suitable for all members of the congregation.
- Gather B-roll footage from weekend services, retreats, or other events throughout the year.
- Participate in weekly creative team meetings.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships by living out our staff values.
- Additional duties and special projects as assigned by the Creative Director.
Qualifications - Experience recruiting and training volunteer video teams.
- Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and After Effects.
- Strong understanding of production: camera, lighting, sound, and directing. Skilled in managing shoots with attention to composition and continuity.
- Extensive post-production experience: rough cuts, motion graphics, and exports.
- Advanced color correction/grading, especially in DaVinci Resolve.
- Proficient in audio editing: syncing, noise reduction, voice-overs, and mastering.
- Strong storytelling and narrative pacing through editing.
- Highly organized with ability to manage footage and deadlines.
Physical - Stand or sit for prolonged amounts of time
- Walk, bend, twist, and kneel, & lift audio & video equipment
- Finger and hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds with or without assistance

Work Conditions - Days and hours of work are generally business hours Sunday-Thursday with occasional evenings, Fridays, and Saturdays as needed
- Regular work hours includes office hours at one's designated campus according to established staff rhythms.
- This job typically operates in a professional office & church environment with standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and telephones.
The Pay Range For This Role Is 75,000 - 95,000 USD per year(Menlo Park)
