The College of DuPage is a comprehensive community college located 27 miles west of downtown Chicago, vitally connected to our local area for over 50 years. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement, responsible for identifying grant opportunities aligned with the College's strategic goals and securing funding for educational programs, community services, and special projects. Leads grant proposal development and submission, and may assist with grant reporting.

Directly manages grants staff, responsible for performance management, hiring, and discipline functions of the departmentResearch, identify, and recommend funding opportunities that will support the College's goals and strategic initiatives.Initiate, develop, and maintain relationships with government, foundation, corporate and community granting agencies.Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of federal and state grant regulations to ensure the College is in compliance.Work with appropriate College offices to ensure internal controls pertaining to grants are effective and implemented.Manage the routing process to disseminate grant proposal opportunities to relevant members of the college community to identify possible grant program managers (principal investigators) for the funding proposals and to build greater involvement in grant opportunities.Develop grant targets and makes budget recommendations.Provide consultative services, technical support, and training for faculty, administrators and staff to increase their success in grant proposal writing, and build their skills at grant management and compliance with grant requirements.This will include development of faculty workshops on sources of external funding and one-on-one support to individual faculty, programs and departments.Provide funding opportunity overviews for faculty and staff.Act as a liaison with grant program managers regarding contract terms.Working with Grant Accountants, monitor key post-award performance metrics and ensure compliance reporting requirements are met.Prepare and present reports on grant status, statistics, cost effectiveness, and other requested topics.Make recommendations for policies, guidelines and systems to ensure an effective operation of the grant submission process.Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education
    • Bachelors degree Business Administration, Communications or a related field required.
    • Masters degree preferred.
  • Experience
    • Five years direct experience in grant development, research, and writing, preferably in a public education setting required.
    • Two year's managerial experience required.
    • Knowledge of federal and state grant funding guidelines, policies and procedures required.
    • Demonstrated success expanding grant funding sources required.
    • Demonstrated success in developing rigorous and complex grant proposals for funding from federal agencies required.
    • Ability to build indirect leadership and influence required.
    • Strong project management skills required.
    • Excellent written and verbal communications required.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), experience with grants management software required.
    • Experience in a community college preferred.

Working Conditions:

General office.This position requires a background check and drug screen.

Hybrid Remote Eligible:

Hiring Range:
12 Salary/Starting salary beginning at $75,131, based on experience.

Competitive starting pay is dependent on education and experience.
