Join to apply for the Electrical Technician and Instrument role at ALLY Energy . My client, a large chemical company, is seeking multiple I&E Technicians in Carson, California. The Instrument and Electrical (I&E) Technician will collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and manufacturing teams to resolve, improve, and implement maintenance activities in a safe, environmentally responsible manner, complying with all regulatory requirements. The role involves supporting daily operations, meeting schedule requirements, and pursuing personal development and continuous improvement. Work quality and performance are expected to be maintained at the highest level, with all jobs completed, documented, and verified satisfactorily. Work Schedule: 4 – 10 Hour Days per Week, Overtime as required. Major Responsibilities The I&E Technician monitors, troubleshoots, and services 120V up to 4kV field equipment and instrumentation (motors, sensing devices, control valves, and other control loop components). All safety and security guidelines according to company policy must be followed. Required Qualifications High School diploma or GED, 8 years of age or older. Completion of a California State Approved Program or equivalent. Completion of a two-year Associates degree in Instrumentation or related field, plus at least 3 years of experience, or at least 5 years of experience. Must possess or obtain a TWIC card prior to employment. Valid U.S. driver's license. Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship (U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident). Skills and training in life-critical processes: LOTO, system and process openings, working at heights, Hot Work, Confined Space Entry, Energized Electrical work. Knowledge and Skills Digital, electronic, pneumatic instrumentation, and controls troubleshooting. Motors, power/control circuits troubleshooting. Smart transmitters, field devices, and tools (Emerson, Communicators). Schematics, wiring diagrams, loop drawings, logic diagrams, blueprints, PID drawings. Distributed control systems (Siemens, Honeywell). Programmable logic controllers (Allen Bradley). Area and Personnel Atmospheric Monitors (MSA, General Monitor). Basic Windows programs: MS Word, Excel, Outlook. Strong communication and troubleshooting skills. Self-initiated learning and time management. Physical and Working Conditions Work outdoors year-round under various weather conditions. Ability to climb scaffolds, towers, vessels, and work at heights. Lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds. Work in confined spaces and from elevated platforms. Wear protective equipment: FRC, safety shoes, hard hat, eye/ear protection, respirators, chemical suits, gloves. Participate in Respiratory Fit Testing. Basic computer skills required. Sensory and Cognitive Requirements Visual, auditory, olfactory, tactile perception. Measure and convert measurements, analyze data, develop plans, and follow instructions.
