Position Title: Quality Manager
Position Overview The Quality Manager is responsible for leading and managing all quality assurance activities at the manufacturing facility. This includes ensuring products meet quality and regulatory standards, solving quality issues, and driving continuous improvements across manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities Quality Oversight - Develop and maintain quality control procedures that ensure products meet customer and industry standards.
- Lead and support the quality control team through training, performance management, and daily supervision.
Inspection & Testing - Create and execute testing procedures for raw materials, in-process parts, and final products.
- Perform regular inspections and identify any quality issues or deviations.
- Continuously improve testing and inspection methods for better accuracy and efficiency.
Process Improvement - Analyze quality data to identify trends and root causes of issues.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions to resolve problems and improve processes.
Compliance & Documentation - Ensure all processes comply with industry regulations and internal policies.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and corrective actions.
Customer Support - Handle customer complaints and quality concerns promptly.
- Work with customers to understand their quality expectations and provide needed documentation.
Reporting - Prepare and share quality reports with leadership, including performance metrics and improvement plans.
- Keep management informed on quality trends and initiatives.
Collaboration - Partner with teams across production, engineering, and sales to ensure quality standards are followed throughout the manufacturing process.
- Promote a culture of quality through communication and regular updates at team meetings.
Training & Development - Provide training to employees on quality standards and procedures.
- Stay current on industry best practices and apply them to improve quality systems.
Safety & Audits - Ensure all quality activities meet safety standards.
- Monitor pest control compliance and conduct regular internal audits.
- Lead ISO 9001:2015 audit schedules and ensure other departments maintain proper documentation and records.
Required: - Bachelor's degree in Quality Assurance, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- At least 5 years of experience in quality assurance within a manufacturing environment (Blow Molding or Injection Molding preferred)
- Strong knowledge of quality systems, tools, and industry standards
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements for plastic manufacturing
- Six Sigma certification or similar credentials
Preferred: - Experience maintaining certifications like ISO9001, ISO13485, and SQF
- Background in customer and third-party audit processes
- Skilled in using quality management software and data analysis tools
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills
- Familiarity with automated inspection tools
- Experience managing projects and obtaining regulatory certifications
